The World Bank together with Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) offered to support Datamine Technical Business School set up a modern fully furnished CNC training workshop and fulfill the dream of setting up the first CNC training center in Uganda.
Through the Skills training window, an initiative of the Government of Uganda and the Private Sector Foundation and funded by the World Bank, Datamine emerged as one of the top winners in a competition that attracted over 25 tertiary institutions and universities.
Each competitor was tasked to make a presentation of their innovative skills projects before a panel of judges. (Photo of presentation).
As thus, Datamine was offered a grant of up to Shs.769 million to be used in the construction of a modern CNC workshop at school, procure modern CNC training material and sponsor the first 78 pioneer trainees in CNC.
The project inauguration ceremony took place at school and was graced by Hon. J.C Muyingo, Minister for Higher education.(pictorial).Also in presence was Prof. Asibo Opuda the head of National Council for Higher Education, Mr. Gideon Bagadawa of PSFU, Miss. Ruth Biyinzika Musoke, and officials from Centenary Bank.
